about
After releasing his highly-praised new album ‘Flowing Fades’ earlier this month, Manchester-based musician Saccades is now sharing a remix of ‘Heat’ courtesy of Theo Kottis. On the ‘Flowing Fades’ LP, Saccades (the solo project of The KVB’s Nicholas Wood) blends escapist psychedelic pop with blissed-out electronic sensibilities. ‘Heat’ was already perhaps the most forthright journey into the latter but on the new remix, out today, the Edinburgh-born, London-based DJ and producer Theo Kottis transforms the song into something even more euphoric and club-ready.
With releases with Skint Records and Permanent Vacation behind him, Theo Kottis has been supported by Annie Mac (‘Hottest Record In The World’), MixMag, Boiler Room, Red Bull and DJ Mag, and currently has a monthly show on RinseFM. Arriving following recent remixes of Disclosure, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark and Erasure, to name just a few, Kottis says of his latest: "I first heard of Nick whilst he was playing in his other band The KVB at Corsica Studios a few years ago in London - I was really impressed. His new Saccades project is a lot lighter and fits perfectly for those in need of some positivity in this current climate. I hope I did the original justice!”
Talking about ‘Heat’, Saccades said: “Influenced by a mixture of early house music and yacht rock, I wrote ‘Heat’ during the sweltering nights of last summer in the stuffy flat that I was living and working in at the time. It’s a song about missing playing live shows and touring, the buzz of the crowd and the connections that are made at gigs and on the road.” On the remix, he continues: “Heat was a track that was always leaning towards the dancefloor but Theo's remix throws it on there head first. Thinking back, the original working title for this track on my computer was 'Euphoria' and I think that sums up this remix perfectly for me. It's both hypnotic and exhilarating at the same time.”

Haunting, beautiful, sexy, and danceable. It's everything you want in an album from them.
